Sumario:The works of Álvaro García Linera is a living body, whose movements are led by his political experiences and by the intense transformations that took place in Bolivia during the last four decades. This article is intended to make an introduction to one of the major authors of the Latin-American political debate. To such purpose, this work presents, in biographical terms, the development of the concepts of revolution, community and government, focusing on the texts he wrote when he was a political prisoner in the nineties and on his reflections as vice-president of Bolivia. The continuities, tense moments and contradictions of this process are highlighted, in order to provide a full perspective of his main contributions.
