We understand inclusive language as a rhetorical phenomenon that has spread inrecent years and has been an instrument of the feminist movement to make visible a population group. We will seek to differentiate it from other ways of language so as to understand its function in the society, what does it generate in the population and how it affects the practices whitin the comunication. To understand the importance of inclusive language and its function, we will compare it with standard language. We will establish the differences and oppositions that are generated between both concepts and we will see which pattern moulds thelanguage. Moreover, we consider standard language as a concept that tries to define one of the variations of the language as the most prestigious. Both varieties, the standard and the inclusive, play a role in power fights. However they differ in the sense that, while the standard language works from an explicit prestige and it is use as the official language in grammar books, in education and the justice, the inclusive language works from an undeclared prestige. Nonetheless, this is used by a big part of the population in formal and informal contexts, and such validation is generated thanks to solidarity and necessity of speakers community.
