Sumario:The main objective of this paper is to explore theoretically the relationship between the expansion of capital and the affectation of rural community-based social relations. For this purpose, a theoretical-exploratory tour is made on the concepts of rural community, capital and the processes of original accumulation as a means for the expansion of capitalist logic. Subsequently, taking as a case study the Antinaco - Los Colorados Valley, located in the province of La Rioja, Argentina, we analyze how the expansion of capital in the twentieth century affected rural community-based social relations. In order to accomplish this, a bibliographical exploration of the subject in general and of the Valley of study in particular was carried out. Finally, by way of conclusion, the peasant political economy is related as another way of sustaining social relations outside the capitalist system, allowing, on this basis, to think about other horizons of life.
