| Sumario: | This article provides information on the human rights guaranteed through the services provided by libraries. To this end, we offer the reader a tour through a broad and representative set of international manifestos and declarations concerning libraries and their information services. In this way, it is possible to see the place and importance given to library services in relation to the fundamental rights of access to information, culture and knowledge. It is also possible to specify the matrix underlying these international documents, which are inspired by both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. |
