description Introduction: the nursing profession from its origins and to date has been advancing in professional practice, providing care based on philosophical positions and care theories (Ramaciotti, 2019). This is how the formation of residences began to be developed to improve the quality of care. The theoretical reference taken into account for the study was: self-efficacy theory, Albert Bandura (2015). Objective: to investigate the expectations of nurses in relation to the activities carried out by residents during their training in the Residency in Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care that takes place in four public pediatric hospitals in Córdoba from July to November 2019. Materials and methods: quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study. Interview card was used. The data was systematized and analyzed in tables. Results: expectations of efficacy in relation to care activity were mostly positive. The difference occurs when it refers to establishing harmonious links with superior peers and other professionals where the no predominates. Regarding communication with parents, negative responses predominate. The expectations of effectiveness in relation to the benefits in professional autonomy are mostly positive. Negative responses were found in relation to facing ethical dilemmas and accepting suggestions about care from superiors and colleagues. The expectations of effectiveness in relation to the production of knowledge are mostly negative. Conclusion: colleagues have a positive view of future residents. They recognize that current nursing knowledge is based on scientific evidence, with updated theories and encompasses the human being holistically in order to establish improvements in the quality of care, which promotes growing spaces of autonomy. Communication and coping with ethical dilemmas are pending challenges to be improved. Although they carry out research projects, it is not enough to sustain their contribution to the scientific knowledge that the profession requires.

Introducción: La profesión de enfermería desde sus orígenes y hasta la fecha fue avanzando en la práctica profesional brindando cuidados basados en posicionamientos filosóficos y teorías de cuidados (Ramaciotti, 2019). Así se comienza a desarrollar la formación de residencias para mejorar la calidad de los cuidados. El referente teórico tomado en cuenta para el estudio fue: teoría de autoeficacia, de Albert Bandura (2015). Objetivo: indagar sobre las expectativas de los/las enfermeros/as en relación con las actividades que desarrollan los/las residentes durante su formación en la Residencia en Cuidados Críticos Neonatales y Pediátricos que se desarrolla en cuatro hospitales pediátricos públicos de Córdoba en el período de julio a noviembre de 2019. Materiales y métodos: estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y de corte transversal. Se utilizó cédula de entrevista. Los datos fueron sistematizados y analizados en tablas. Resultados: las expectativas de eficacia en relación con la actividad asistencial en su mayoría fueron positivas. La diferencia se da cuando se refiere a establecer vínculos armoniosos con pares superiores y otros/as profesionales donde predomina el no. En cuanto a la comunicación con los padres predominan respuestas negativas. Las expectativas de eficacia en relación con los beneficios en la autonomía profesional son en su mayoría positivas. Se encuentran respuestas negativas en relación con el afrontamiento de dilemas éticos y con la aceptación de sugerencias sobre cuidados a superiores y colegas. Las expectativas de eficacia en relación con la producción de conocimientos en su mayoría son negativas. Conclusión: los colegas tienen una visión positiva acerca de los/las futuros/as residentes. Reconocen que los saberes de la enfermería actual están basados en evidencia científica, con teorías actualizadas y abarcan al ser humano holísticamente con el fin de establecer mejoras en la calidad de los cuidados, lo que promueve espacios crecientes de autonomía. La comunicación y el afrontamiento de los dilemas éticos son desafíos pendientes de ser mejorados. Si bien, realizan proyectos de investigación, no es lo suficiente para sostener su contribución al conocimiento científico que la profesión requiere. Introdução: a profissão de enfermagem desde suas origens e até hoje vem avançando na prática profissional, prestando cuidados baseados em posições filosóficas e teorias do cuidado (Ramaciotti, 2019). Foi assim que a formação de residências começou a ser desenvolvida para melhorar a qualidade do atendimento. O referencial teórico levado em consideração para o estudo foi: teoria da autoeficácia, Albert Bandura (2015). Objetivo: investigar as expectativas dos enfermeiros em relação às atividades realizadas pelos residentes durante sua formação na Residência em Cuidados Críticos Neonatais e Pediátricos que acontece em quatro hospitais pediátricos públicos de Córdoba de julho a novembro de 2019. Materiais e métodos: quantitativos, estudo descritivo e transversal. Foi utilizado cartão de entrevista. Os dados foram sistematizados e analisados em tabelas. Resultados: as expectativas de eficácia em relação à atividade assistencial foram em sua maioria positivas. A diferença ocorre quando se refere ao estabelecimento de vínculos harmoniosos com pares superiores e outros profissionais onde predomina o não. Em relação à comunicação com os pais, predominam as respostas negativas. As expectativas de efetividade em relação aos benefícios na autonomia profissional são em sua maioria positivas. Foram encontradas respostas negativas em relação ao enfrentamento de dilemas éticos e aceitação de sugestões sobre o cuidado de superiores e colegas. As expectativas de efetividade em relação à produção de conhecimento são em sua maioria negativas. Conclusão: os colegas têm uma visão positiva dos futuros residentes. Reconhecem que o conhecimento atual da enfermagem é baseado em evidências científicas, com teorias atualizadas e engloba o ser humano de forma holística, a fim de estabelecer melhorias na qualidade da assistência, o que promove espaços crescentes de autonomia. A comunicação e o enfrentamento dos dilemas éticos são desafios pendentes a serem aprimorados. Embora realizem projetos de pesquisa, não é suficiente para sustentar sua contribuição para o conhecimento científico que a profissão exige.
