Introduction: Nursing from its beginnings to the present has undergone great changes that favored the growth and recognition of the profession. Laws are a crucial part of this growth, since from them the competencies of nursing professionals are recognized. When analyzing the same from different countries, it is possible to identify the contributions that each one offers in terms of differences, similarities and specific articles that are not replicated in the peer countries, which is why the objective pursued by this research was to know the laws and codes of ethics that regulate professional practice in each of the 10 countries belonging to South America. Methodology: A systematic review of the laws that regulate the professional practice and codes of ethics in nursing was carried out, the countries were selected according to the interest of this research: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. The data obtained in this review were dumped into a matrix table which was divided according to the data of interest of this research based on the specific objectives. Results and discussion: It is highlighted that all countries have their own code of ethics or adhere to international codes, in turn all have laws that regulate professional practice that were sanctioned in different years, the first country to sanction a The law that regulates the practice of nursing was Bolivia in 1978, while the last was Uruguay in 2011. Among the differences, it was found that Brazil has a section in its law that authorizes nursing professionals to prescribe medications that are find authorized. In countries such as Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador it is mandatory to perform social service in the most vulnerable areas. Conclusions: The regulation of nursing is of the utmost importance in any part of the world, since from the laws, norms and codes of ethics, a better quality of care can be ensured for the entire population. Taking into account the current world context, some of the countries investigated require updating their legislation to current requirements. |

Introducción: La enfermería desde sus inicios a la actualidad ha sufrido grandes cambios que favorecieron al crecimiento y reconocimiento de la profesión. Las leyes son una parte crucial de este crecimiento ya que, a partir de ellas, se reconocen las competencias de las/los profesionales enfermeras/os. Al analizar el marco legal de diferentes países se pueden identificar los aportes que brinda cada una en cuanto a diferencias, similitudes y artículos específicos que no se replican en los países pares. Por ello, el objetivo que persiguió esta investigación fue conocer las leyes y códigos de ética que regulan el ejercicio profesional en cada uno de los 10 países pertenecientes a Sudamérica. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión sistemática de las leyes que regulan el ejercicio profesional y los códigos de ética en enfermería. Los países fueron seleccionados según interés de esta investigación: Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia,Ecuador, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela. Los datos obtenidos de esta revisión fueron volcados en una tabla matriz la cual se dividía según los datos de interés de esta investigaciónen base a los objetivos específicos. Resultados y discusión: Se destaca que todos los países cuentan con código de ética ya sea propios o que adhieran a códigos internacionales; a su vez, todos cuentan con leyes que regulan el ejercicio profesional sancionadas en diferentes años. El primer país en sancionar una ley regulatoria del ejercicio de la enfermería fue Bolivia en 1978, mientras que el último fue Uruguay en 2011. Entre las diferencias se encontró que Brasil incluye en su ley un apartado en el cual autoriza a profesionales de enfermería a prescribir medicamentos que se encuentren autorizados. En países como Bolivia, Colombia y Ecuador es obligatorio realizar servicio social en las áreas más vulnerables. Conclusiones: La regulación de la enfermería es de suma importancia en cualquier parte del mundo, ya que a partir de las leyes, normas y códigos de ética se puede asegurar una mejor calidad de atención para toda la población. As leis são parte crucial desse crescimento, pois a partir delas são reconhecidas as competências dos profissionais de enfermagem. Ao analisar os mesmos de diferentes países, é possível identificar as contribuições que cada um oferece em termos de diferenças, semelhanças e artigos específicos que não são replicados nos países pares, razão pela qual o objetivo perseguido por esta pesquisa foi conhecer o leis e códigos de ética que regulamentam o exercício profissional em cada um dos 10 países pertencentes à América do Sul. Metodologia: Foi realizada uma revisão sistemática das leis que regulamentam o exercício profissional e códigos de ética em enfermagem, os países foram selecionados de acordo com o interesse desta pesquisa: Argentina, Bolívia, Brasil, Chile, Colômbia, Equador, Paraguai, Peru , Uruguai e Venezuela. Os dados obtidos nesta revisão foram despejados em uma tabela matriz que foi dividida de acordo com os dados de interesse desta pesquisa com base nos objetivos específicos.
