The present work is part of a research oriented to the appreciation and analysis of the self-perceptions of the role and work context, of Social School Managers (ECES) in work function within school institutions of the regions of Bío-Bío and Ñuble in Chile. The research focuses on a vision both at the time of the pandemic, and prior to it, seeking to substantiate the collection of related research online, noting the scarce accumulation of research knowledge generated to date in relation to these officials. It is thus intended to contribute to the heritage of the matter, as well as to denote that, although the profile of the position is still in the process of being validated, the ECEs are optimistic about their future employment. El presente trabajo se enmarca dentro de una investigación orientada a la apreciación y al análisis de las auto-percepciones del rol y del contexto laboral de los Encargados de Convivencia Escolar (ECES) en función dentro de instituciones escolares de las regiones de Bío-Bío y Ñuble, en Chile. La indagación se enfoca en una visión respectiva tanto al tiempo de pandemia, como al previo a esta, con lo cual se busca fundamentar en línea con el acervo de la investigación relacionada y constatar la escasa acumulación de conocimiento investigativo generado a la fecha en relación a estos mencionados funcionarios. Se pretende así tanto contribuir al acervo de la materia, como denotar que, aunque el perfil del cargo aún se encuentra en proceso de validación, los ECES se muestran optimistas con vistas a su futuro laboral. O presente trabalho faz parte de uma investigação em curso, orientada para a apreciação e análise das autopercepções e visões do papel que os encarregados da convivência escolar (ECES) desempenham na execução de funções do cargo em instituições das regiões Bío-Bío e Ñuble no Chile. A investigação centra-se numa visão relativa tanto ao momento da pandemia, como na anterior, procurando fundamentar o conjunto de pesquisas relacionadas online, constatando o escasso acúmulo de conhecimento investigativo gerado até à data em relação a estes funcionários. Pretende-se, assim, contribuir para o património da matéria, bem como denotar que, embora o perfil do cargo ainda esteja em processo de validação, as ECEs estão otimistas quanto ao seu futuro emprego.
