In this context, there is an accelerated need to revisit the ways in which we process death(s). This article will explore and question the common understandings of grief. We will examine these established notions to enable and open reflections that reinterpret them, revealing the opposition that permeates the ways of experiencing and processing death, deaths: life and death. We circumscribe this to the post-dictatorship era in Argentina, focusing on the writings of H.I.J.A.S under the poignant question: how to mourn 30,000 disappeared? How to grieve such a mourning? We will attempt other (im)possible mournings with the works: Aparecida by Marta Dillon (2015) and Diario de una princesa montonera by Mariana Eva Pérez (2012). A partir del acontecimiento de la pandemia, cobra visibilidad pública e interés creciente un malestar que ya existía en el campo de las humanidades, pero que ahora se precipita con toda su fuerza: el progresivo empobrecimiento de la experiencia del duelo. En ese marco, se acelera una necesidad por revisar los modos de elaboración de la(s) muerte(s). El presente artículo indaga e interroga los sentidos comunes acerca del duelo. Nos dispondremos a revisar dichos sentidos establecidos para habilitar y abrir reflexiones que los reinterpreten, evidenciando la oposición que impregna los modos de vivir y elaborar la muerte, las muertes: vida y muerte. Lo circunscribimos a la época de posdictadura en Argentina, para centrarnos en las escrituras de H.I.J.A.S bajo la punzante pregunta: ¿cómo duelar 30.000 desaparecidxs?, ¿cómo hacer semejante duelo? Ensayaremos otros duelos (im)posibles con las obras: Aparecida, de Marta Dillon (2015) y Diario de una princesa montonera, de Mariana Eva Pérez (2012).
