This country has been hit by an historic drought, while the IMF remains unflexible on their demands for fiscal adjustment, devaluation and capital account liberalization. Aiming to an encounter between philosophy and economy, this article seeks to examine the terms and results of the latest program between Argentina and the IMF. We will analyze in which ways this agreement reinserts the country in a scheme of debt-guilt as a technology of power, what are the reasons behind IMF’s recent crisis of credibility, and what margin is left for a political praxis that aims to escape the punitive matrix of the international financial architecture. A un año de su aprobación, el último Programa de Facilidades Extendidas entre la Argentina y el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI), se encuentra en vías de reformularse completamente. El país se halla golpeado por una sequía histórica, mientras que el FMI endurece sus exigencias de ajuste fiscal, devaluación y liberalización de la cuenta de capital. Desde un encuentro disciplinar entre filosofía y economía, el presente trabajo se propone examinar los términos y resultados del último acuerdo argentino con el FMI. Analizaremos de qué manera este acuerdo reinserta a la Argentina en un esquema de deuda-culpa como tecnología de poder, cuáles son los motivos que han llevado al reciente descrédito del FMI como organización, y qué margen puede haber para una praxis política que escape a la matriz punitiva de la arquitectura financiera internacional.
