Perón. The purpose is to show that access to the original documents could be essential to approach archives from a critical methodological perspective. A personal experience in which it was inferred the authorship of an anonymous document mistakenly associated to Arturo Jauretche will be narrated, and there will be critical review regarding the uses of archives that allow literal transcriptions of documents on different platforms. If archivists decide what should be preserved and what should be dismissed, and also how to organize the material offered to the public, academic investigations do not always make a critical use of the archives that would allow a review of those previous decisions. The main materials selected for this paper are documents from the Juan Domingo Perón Papers’ collection of the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, California. El artículo constituye un avance de una investigación en curso sobre correspondencia del exilio de Juan D. Perón. El propósito es mostrar que el acceso a los documentos originales puede resultar fundamental para abordar los archivos desde una posición metodológica crítica. Se relatará una experiencia personal que infiere la autoría de un documento anónimo asociado por error a Arturo Jauretche y se realizará una crítica de los usos del archivo que habilita la transcripción literal de documentos en múltiples soportes. Si desde la archivística se toman decisiones en torno a qué debe ser conservado y qué resulta desechado, y cómo organizar los materiales que serán ofrecidos al público, no siempre desde la investigación académica realizamos un uso crítico de los archivos que permita reponer esas decisiones. El corpus documental a considerar está compuesto por materiales que integran la colección Juan Domingo Perón Papers del Instituto Hoover, Universidad de Stanford, California.
