El artículo presenta el estado del arte sobre los periódicos editados por afroporteños, desde 1858 hasta principios del siglo XX. Se elabora una definición de este soporte dada cierta confusión en estudios previos, se detallan los datos básicos de cada uno, se indizan los ejemplares conocidos, señalando los disponibles para su consulta y se indican cuáles fueron conceptuados erróneamente como afroporteños.
