Being able to access the source material produced and selected by the person who had a leading role both in the organization of the Modern School International Exhibition as well as two special issues of AC magazine dedicated to schools, allows us to illustrate the importance given to education during the Second Spanish Republic and also the research on school architecture as a social and educational response done by the GATEPAC avant-garde architects. Este trabajo profundiza en los vínculos entre modernidad arquitectónica y pedagógica en la década de 1930 a través de la documentación inherente a esta temática relevada en el Archivo Profesional del arquitecto Joan Baptista Subirana. El poder acceder a las fuentes producidas y seleccionadas por quien tuviera un rol protagónico tanto en la organización de la ExposiciónInternacional de Escuelas Modernas como en los dos números monográficos dedicados a escuelas de la revista AC, permite dar cuenta de la importancia otorgada a la educación en la Segunda República española así como a las investigaciones en torno a la arquitectura escolar en tanto respuesta social y pedagógica por parte de los arquitectos vanguardistas del GATEPAC.
