| Sumario: | This paper explores the links between architectural and pedagogical modernity in the 1930s through the documents related to this field gathered in the architect Joan Baptista Subirana's Professional Archive. Being able to access the source material produced and selected by the person who had a leading role both in the organization of the Modern School International Exhibition as well as two special issues of AC magazine dedicated to schools, allows us to illustrate the importance given to education during the Second Spanish Republic and also the research on school architecture as a social and educational response done by the GATEPAC avant-garde architects. |
