| Sumario: | Unlike other archives, the Dirección de Inteligencia de la Policía de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (DIPPBA) keeps its original structure. The monitoring techniques of the police system were included as part of the design of the building. The DIPPBA was closed on 30 April 1998. The archive contains data from 1932 until its closure. In this regard, the documents produced both by civilian and military governments, were formed as direct antecedents of the mechanisms of intelligence that supported the political repression. This article deals about the origin of this archive and its relevance as a ground to shed light on different periods of Argentina´s recent history. It also discuss about the different ways of studying archives containing intelligence documents. |
