In the case of the police, there is an immediate connection between knowledge and volume of the sources. The vast number of documents in the AGN in the 1820s is due to the penetration of a new knowledge in order to create a state. The return to a local government from 1829, meanwhile, shows a judicial culture that still remained in the framework of a world without State. The Jesuit documents, in turn, generated to control the activity of their members, ended up being successful in a different context, because they provided a detailed description of the rural world. However, the transfer of these documents from a Jesuit to a national rationality began the process of distortion of the source. The consistency on the origin of these documents allowed historians to create for decades new knowledge. Un conjunto de fuentes de la policía y la Compañía de Jesús nos permite confirmar que la narrativa histórica sigue a la forma en que éstas se organizaron. En el caso de la policía, existe una conexión inmediata entre el conocimiento y el volumen de las fuentes. El gran número de documentos en el AGN en la década de 1820 se debe a la penetración de un nuevo conocimiento, con el fin de crear un estado. El retorno a un gobierno local en 1829, en tanto, muestra una cultura judicial que aún queda en el marco de un mundo sin Estado. Los documentos jesuitas, generados para controlar la actividad de sus miembros, terminaron siendo un éxito en un contexto diferente, porque proporcionaron una descripción detallada del mundo rural. La coherencia de origen de estos documentos permitió que los historiadores hayan estado durante décadas aprovechando su valor para generar nuevos saberes.
