The primary objective of this presentation is to show the valuable documentary heritage that the National Library has today. In this paper you can also see other lines of work: the acquisition, organization and description of the materials, the tasks of conservation and digitization, dissemination and attention to user queries. The things that done and the challenges that open. Desde hace poco más de 10 años se desarrolla en la Biblioteca Nacional un intenso trabajo con archivos y colecciones particulares, fondos de origen privado que la institución recibió y continúa recibiendo, fundamentalmente en forma de donación. Dar cuenta del valioso acervo documental con que cuenta hoy la Biblioteca es el objetivo central de esta presentación. Su adquisición, la organización y descripción de los materiales, las tareas de conservación y digitalización, su difusión y la atención de consultas de los usuarios son las líneas de trabajo que se presentarán también en este escrito.
