However, the economic and political processes experienced by "peripheral" regions - such as Mendoza - have received little attention. In this context, in this work we will deal with the organizational trajectory of vineyard contractors between 1969 and 1976. For this purpose, we will first address the emergence and development of the contractor figure in the province at the end of the XIXth century and during the XXth, and then analyzed the main clashes between the wine bourgeoisie and the contractors, taking into account the impact of the local wine crisis towards the end of the cycle and the implementation of a repressive strategy towards the sectors more mobilized of the working class. Son numerosas las investigaciones que abordan la conflictividad social durante las décadas del 60 y 70 en la Argentina, sin embargo, la mayoría ha centrado el análisis en los grandes centros de desarrollo industrial, lugares donde el proceso de industrialización sustitutiva de importaciones generó un proletariado fabril que tuvo un destacado protagonismo en los enfrentamientos entre el capital y el trabajo. Sin embargo, los procesos económicos y políticos que vivieron regiones “periféricas” -como Mendoza- han recibido poca atención. En ese marco, en este trabajo nos ocuparemos de la trayectoria organizativa de los contratistas de viñas entre 1969 y 1976. Para ello abordaremos primero el surgimiento y desarrollo de la figura del contratista en la provincia a fines del siglo XIX y durante el XX, para luego analizar los principales enfrentamientos entre la burguesía vitivinícola y los contratistas entre 1969 y 1970, teniendo en cuenta el impacto que tuvo la crisis vitivinícola local hacia el final del ciclo y la puesta en marcha de una estrategia represiva hacia los sectores mas movilizados de la clase obrera Centro de Estudios Históricos “Prof. Carlos S.
