The case under study is the complaint that H. El Khazen, a bolichero, initiated to the editor of the newspaper La Chispa. El Khazen complained slander and insults, based on journalistic denunciation against him for the eviction of indigenous settlers in Cushamen. It is argued that while the Arab bolichero won the judicial instance, he failed to avoid the reproach regarding the evictions. We conclude that the Court ruling had no impact on the social memory and that the antecedent of the expropriating Turks of Cushamen was consolidated as an archetype. Finally, it is argued that the case could have contributed to liquefying the responsibility of other actors, at the same time that it could have favor linear readings of the spoliation processes. En este artículo se analizan fuentes judiciales vinculadas con las repercusiones que tuvieron conflictos territoriales entre comerciantes árabes y pobladores indígenas en la prensa patagónica a fines de la década de 1950. El caso que se estudia es la querella que el bolichero H. El Khazen le inició al director del periódico La Chispa, por supuestas calumnias e injurias, a partir de las denuncias periodísticas contra el mencionado comerciante por el desalojo de indígenas en Cushamen. Se argumenta que, si bien el bolichero árabe obtuvo la victoria judicial, no logró evitar el oprobio en relación con los desalojos. Se concluye que el fallo de la justicia no tuvo impacto en la memoria social y que el antecedente de los turcos expropiadores de Cushamen se consolidó como arquetipo. Finalmente, se sostiene que el caso pudo contribuir a licuar las responsabilidades de otros actores, al mismo tiempo que pudo favorecer lecturas lineales de los procesos de expoliación.
