| Sumario: | This article describes and analyzes a group of documents gathered in the Archivo General de la Provincia de Entre Ríos under the label of Estadística de esclavos. In particular, it highlights the information these documents, little explored so far, offer to the study of slavery in the province during the abolitionist period. These documents are placed in relation to other sources of the period –provincial and national censuses, church records, laws and decrees, court records and notarial protocols–, opening new questions and drawing possible paths for the development of deeper research. |
