These documents are placed in relation to other sources of the period –provincial and national censuses, church records, laws and decrees, court records and notarial protocols–, opening new questions and drawing possible paths for the development of deeper research. En este artículo se describe y analiza un grupo de documentos reunidos en el Archivo General de la Provincia de Entre Ríos bajo el rótulo de Estadística de esclavos. En particular, se indaga en la información que estos documentos, poco explorados hasta el momento, ofrecen para el estudio de la esclavitud en la provincia durante el período abolicionista. Al mismo tiempo, se los pone en relación con otras fuentes del período –censos provinciales y nacionales, registros parroquiales, leyes y decretos, expedientes judiciales y protocolos notariales–, abriendo nuevos interrogantes y trazando caminos posibles para el desarrollo de futuras investigaciones.
