In a second instance, we focus on the need to reconstruct the slave and freedom experience developed in a marginal and peripheral space of the Spanish Empire, as is the case in Correntino. In relation to that, we carried out a critical review of the documentary sources that are conserved in the General Archive of the Province of Corrientes and in the Parish Archives. En este artículo, en primera instancia, presentamos una somera revisión de cómo se ha explorado la cuestión esclavista teniendo en cuenta los fondos documentales pesquisados y las líneas centrales. En una segunda instancia, nos centramos en la necesidad de reconstruir la experiencia esclavista y de libertad desarrollada en un espacio marginal y periférico del Imperio Español, como es el caso correntino. En relación a eso, realizamos una revisión crítica de las fuentes documentales que se conservan en el Archivo General de la Provincia de Corrientes y en los Archivos Parroquiales.
