La repetición sistemática de mitos y errores que tergiversan la Historia termina por conformar un relato de fantasía, que no resiste la confrontación con los documentos. Por ello es menester desmitificar nuestro pasado, conscientes de que sobre cimientos de barro no se levantan edificios sólidos. En este trabajo se exhiben las abundantes pruebas que demuestran que la pretendida primera fundación de la ciudad de Buenos Aires en 1536 es uno de esos mitos, que aún hoy se sigue repitiendo, a despecho de las evidencias que muestran su falsedad.
