Sumario:This article analyzes and describes the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) from the point of view of international relations, as a relevant regional body as a result of globalization, cultural globalization and transnationalization. Next, and as a result of this prevalence obtained, the actions of this regional sports organization during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic will be examined, through its decisions regarding football competitions, both at the club level and of the different national teams that integrate. In this sense, it will be observed that, despite the health risks for the nation states, the sporting event was many times above government decisions with the sole purpose of continuing to contest the competitions so that football continues to be a highly profitable business.
