description This paper presents the results of the bioarchaeological study of a set of human remains recovered in the 1940s at the Queta site, Puna de Jujuy, together with the analysis of the archaeological background generated to date. Archaeological information allows this site to be assigned to the Late and Late-Inka period. The analysis included the determination of sex, the estimation of age, the calculation of the minimum number of individuals and the determination of artificial deformation of the skull. In addition, various paleopathological indicators were considered. The results indicate that the sample is composed of 20 individuals, the majority male adults with oblique tabular deformation. A low frequency of indicators of metabolic-systemic stress, infections and caries was revealed. The frequency of periapical injuries is considerable. The observed manifestations, at the level of the skull, allow us to argue that these individuals would not have suffered from situations of chronic stress. The type of cranial deformation surveyed is in accordance with that observed in other populations of the Puna de Jujuy. The results obtained are discussed in relation to the paleopathological information and the types of deformation from other sites in neighboring regions (Quebrada de Humahuaca, Valles Calchaquíes, Quebrada del Toro and San Pedro de Atacama).
