description The municipality of Lanús is named in honor of a family that represented Argentina modern identity and therefore has been crucial for the growing of the town from a political perspective. Several places have been considered cultural heritage in addition to granting the community such location as a form of celebration. However, the remains of that farm are unprotected and currently are for sale. From the analysis of a set of narratives together with the study of the heritage and commemorative declarations associated to the family, in the political contexts under which these have been elaborated, the aim of this paper is to reflect on the notions of Argentina heritage and identity. It is concluded that both categories are dynamic, and therefore the cultural heritage analyses should be considered must the multiple identity appropriations.
