description In order to reconstruct the Late Holocene vegetation history we used a module from of HEMO (Hindcasting Ecosystems Model), an ecosystem-process model. This reconstruction of the environmental past in terms of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) is related to plant’s absorption of the photosynthetically active radiation (APAR), with the canopy geometry of woody plants, soil cover and humidity. This work presents the Paleo-NDVI reconstruction from 442 AD to the present. Positive and negative anomalies are discussed here, which are linked to different Aguada´s occupational sequences, together with the model sensibility to global phenomena.
