description This research was developed within the framework of preprofessional practices proposed by the course in Sociocultural Anthropology II of the degree in Anthropology, of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum, Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP). Motivated by the limited availability of knowledge on the subject in Argentina, especially in La Plata city, the main interest was to observe how the mourides Muslim practices of Senegalese immigrants are developped in this city. As a result of the migratory processes of their practitioners, these practices have been transformed and deterritorialized in the countries where they have arrived, although there is a certain continuity in these practices. It is considered important to rethink the representations about Islam and African migrants, to achieve the recognition of the ways of life of the Senegaleses by the inhabitants of La Plata.
