Starting with the analysis and the characterization of a peculiar technological feature of late pottery of the Valley of Tafí –with high density of whitish inclusions in his pasts– we area interested in evaluating this as an eventual additional indicator of socio-cultural processes related historically to the times of the conquest and Inca domain. For this purpose we have selected a group of fragments obtained of underground contexts of discovery of the Site LC ZVIII S1 in the southern Cumbres Calchaquíes, to which have been carried out submacroscopic and microscopic studies. The results were correlated with data corresponding to form and decoration of the pieces. The pasts with this type of white inclusions –piroclastic rocks eventually of local origin- appear in the Inca ceramic, but also, and in remarkable amount, in the Santamariana, suggesting an even larger spectrum of goods implied in the production and circulation processes about the end of the XVth century and beginnings of the XVIth. We support the peculiarity of the historic (social, cultural and political) processes of these regions more so its integration and grade of subjection of the Inca state. The archaeological evidences in the Valley of Tafí suggest a particular participation in the complex production, distribution processes and the circulation of goods. |
