description Discusses the identification of archival documents and the principles adopted for the designation and grouping of the record series. Understanding the record series is essential, because when adopting the Documentary Typology as a methodology to identify the archival document for the action that gave rise to it and to group them using this principle, on the typological records series will fall the whole proposal of archival technical treatment. But if we generally consider the record series as a sequence of documents on the same subject, the identification, classification, and appraisal of the archival documents will focus on the subjects that are on the records, not on the actions that I have taken they exist. It is hoped that the results serve as parameters for the reflections on the need to standardize the identification of the documents and their correct denomination from the functions and activities, a criterion that does not allow misinterpretations.
