description Figure No. 1. (First dissection. Corresponds to the peripheral portion of the Facial, extraparotid). The parotid is highly developed, especially making an anterior prolongation, which continues along and above Stenon's duct. Vertically it extends from the inferior border of the zygoma to the goniion. Horizontally, from the pre-auricular sulcus to the anterior border of the masseter. The whole of the parotid can be divided into two portions. A posterior portion, triangular in shape, whose base follows the inferior border of the zygoma; its dimensions are thirty millimeters (30), a posterior side that follows the preauricular sulcus, an anterior side that follows the posterior border of the masseter.
