For this purpose, the implementation of ICTs in several academic institutions is analyzed from the teaching point of view. Furthermore, it presents some considerations on the need to think that the teaching processes in a virtual community allow the students to go beyond the boundaries of the “traditional classroom” integrating their knowledge to the constantly changing social reality. Este artículo pretende realizar un aporte al cuerpo docente sobre lo provechoso de incorporar en las actuales propuestas educativas el uso de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC). Con este propósito se analiza, desde la experiencia docente, la implementación de las mismas en los diversos espacios institucionales. A la vez que se reflexiona sobre la necesidad de pensar que los procesos de enseñanza en una comunidad virtual, posibilitan a los sujetos de aprendizaje salirse de los límites del “aula tradicional” integrando sus conocimientos a la realidad social en constante transformación.
