It observes how the term "performance" used as modifier and relative to the enactment of a piece of art in general, and the term "performative", understood as assigning meaning or conforming ways of perceiving the world, are conceived in the translation of a series of poems, called performance poems, whose characteristics, typical of poetry aloud (polyphony and voice modes) are highly resistant to written translation. At the same time, through a theoretical itinerary from performative language, performance art, to philosophy and psychoanalysis (Butler, McSweeney, Toro, Deleuze, Winnicott, etc) this work attempts to demonstrate that both terms (performance and performative) converge to account for a type of translation with the same purposes. In order to illustrate these ideas, this paper pursues a performative approach (in both senses of the term) for the translation of Joyelle McSweeney´s poems. Este trabajo propone analizar una perspectiva de traducción elaborada sobre el concepto de “performance”. Observará cómo los adjetivos performático, relativo a la ejecución o puesta en acto de una pieza artística en general, y performativo, vinculado a la instauración de significado o formas de percibir el mundo, se conciben en la traducción de una serie de poemas, llamados performáticos, cuyas características, propias de la poesía en voz alta (polifonía y modos de la voz), conllevan una resistencia mayor a la traducción convencional en la página escrita. A su vez, a través de un recorrido teórico que transita por el lenguaje performativo, el arte de performance, la filosofía y el psicoanálisis (Butler, McSweeney, Toro, Deleuze, Winnicott, etc.) se intenta demostrar que ambos términos (performático y performativo) confluyen para dar cuenta de una forma de traducción con los mismos propósitos. A fin de ilustrar lo anterior, este trabajo observa y sugiere un enfoque performático y a la vez performativo para la traducción de los poemas de Joyelle Mcsweeney.
