In this work, we approach relations between reality and imagination as they appear embodied in the protagonists, and how these relate to fantastic and horror genres.  Veneno para las hadas (1984), último filme del director mexicano Carlos Enrique Taboada, mantiene lazos con lo fantástico, el terror y los cuentos de hadas, sin restringirse a un género específico. Dos niñas establecen una dinámica de poder en la que se ponen en juego sus paradigmas de realidad cuando una de ellas asegura ser una bruja.
