The First and Second World Wars brought about enormous changes and demanded new criteria in order to interpret reality, fact that had an impact on the conception of law, its purposes, tasks, and new social responsibilities. Thus, the current Western culture criticizes itself and the world views that have contributed to create the historical world and social relationships. Moreover, the interpretation of reality also resulted in the need for a pluralism of viewpoints and the acquisition of knowledge from a constructive perspective. As a consequence, important changes were brought about in the situation and functions of law which presents diverse conceptions that stress the need for comprehending and reviewing the different approaches that the discipline as such presents as well as the different models that they encompass embracing or not an interdisciplinary treatment. En la tarea de construir el mundo jurídico cotidiano, propuesta que nos formula la disciplina Introducción al Derecho caracterizado dentro de un contexto signado por procesos tales como la modernidad, postmodernidad y globalización, se presenta el derecho como fenómeno cultural. La Primera y la Segunda Guerras Mundiales generaron grandes cambios y reclamaron nuevos criterios para interpretar la realidad, lo cual repercutió en la concepción del derecho, sus fines, tareas y sus nuevas responsabilidades sociales. De allí que hoy la cultura occidental realiza una crítica sobre sí misma y sobre las cosmovisiones que contribuyeron a construir el mundo histórico y las realidades sociales. Además la pluralización de los puntos de vista y el carácter constructivo de los conocimientos. Todo esto produjo grandes transformaciones en la situación y en las funciones del derecho, respecto del cual existen diversas concepciones que plantean la necesidad de comprender y revisar los distintos enfoques que existen respecto del mismo y los modelos que cada uno de ellos utiliza, con apertura o no a la interdisciplina.
