It also concludes that the presumption that politicians elected in democratic elections faithfully reflect the preferences, tastes, scales of values and ideology of voting citizens is highly questionable, and therefore we can not precisely consider them "faithful representatives and efficient maximizers of our Function of Social Welfare ", underlying principle out of all discussion and taken as a starting point in the formal construction of most conventional macroeconomic models of general equilibrium. En esta breve nota, se presenta una reflexión sobre la todavía excesiva simplificación contenida en la afirmación de que en los mercados políticos de oferta y demanda de políticas públicas, un voto es equivalente a una unidad de compra (un peso, un dólar, un euro) de los mercados de bienes y servicios. Se concluye también que es altamente cuestionable la presunción que considera que los políticos elegidos en elecciones democráticas reflejan fielmente las preferencias, gustos, escalas de valores e ideología de los ciudadanos votantes, y por ende no podemos precisamente considerarlos "fieles representantes  y eficientes maximizadores de nuestra Función de Bienestar Social",  principio subyacente fuera de toda discusión y tomado como punto de partida en la construcción formal de la mayoría de los modelos macroeconómicos convencionales de equilibrio general.
