The production of knowledge in social interaction involves research processes characterized by links between academic and non-academic actors, the opening up of academic research agendas to the problems, demands and knowledge needs of society; it implies the shaping of negotiated and contextualized agendas, the participation of diverse actors and the achievement of results that can be used by these actors to satisfy their demands and needs and/or to collaborate in the resolution of their problems. This imposes a set of challenges for policies to stimulate research and, in particular, for the ways in which such research is evaluated, valued and recognised. Thus, and based on the experience of stimulating research by the Scientific Research Council of the Universidad de la República, this article focuses on the description and analysis of the forms of evaluation of research that promotes the production of knowledge in social interaction and its socially valuable use. It also reflects on the challenges for the university policy of stimulating research in dialogue with non-academic actors in society and in the production of goods and services, interested in the research results and in the solutions explored. This work provides knowledge on alternative forms of research evaluation with social and/or productive relevance, in particular on their forms of organization and associated practices. |

La producción de conocimiento en interacción social supone procesos de investigación caracterizados por la vinculación entre actores académicos y no académicos y por la apertura de las agendas académicas de investigación a los problemas, demandas y necesidades de conocimiento de la sociedad; implican la conformación de agendas negociadas y contextualizadas, la participación de actores diversos y el alcance de resultados que puedan ser utilizados por esos actores para satisfacer sus demandas y necesidades y/o para colaborar en la resolución de problemas. Esto impone un conjunto de desafíos para las políticas de estímulo a la investigación y, en particular, para las formas en que se evalúa, valora y reconoce dicha investigación. Así y con base en la experiencia de la Comisión Sectorial de Investigación Científica de la Universidad de la República, este artículo se centra en la descripción y el análisis de las formas de evaluación de la investigación que promueve la producción de conocimiento en interacción social y su uso socialmente valioso. Además, reflexiona sobre los desafíos para la política universitaria de estímulo a la investigación en diálogo con actores no académicos de la sociedad y de la producción de bienes y servicios, interesados en los resultados de investigación y en las soluciones exploradas. Este trabajo aporta conocimiento sobre formas alternativas de evaluación de la investigación con relevancia social y/o productiva, en particular sobre sus formas de organización y prácticas asociadas. A produção de conhecimento na interação social envolve processos de pesquisa caracterizados por ligações entre atores acadêmicos e não acadêmicos, a abertura de agendas de pesquisa acadêmica aos problemas, demandas e necessidades de conhecimento da sociedade e implica a formação de agendas negociadas e contextualizadas, a participação de diversos atores e a obtenção de resultados que possam ser utilizados por esses atores para satisfazer suas demandas e necessidades e/ou para colaborar na resolução de seus problemas. Isto impõe um conjunto de desafios para as políticas de estímulo à pesquisa e, em particular, para as formas pelas quais tal pesquisa é avaliada, valorizada e reconhecida. Assim, e com base na experiência de estímulo à pesquisa da Comissão Setorial de Pesquisa Científica da Universidade da República, este artigo enfoca a descrição e análise das formas de avaliação da pesquisa que promove a produção de conhecimento na interação social e seu uso socialmente valioso. Também reflete sobre os desafios para a política universitária de estimular a pesquisa em diálogo com atores não acadêmicos da sociedade e na produção de bens e serviços, interessados nos resultados da pesquisa e nas soluções exploradas.
