A series of tensions converge in the character of Zoila that complicate the taxonomies on which the text is built (health/disease, productivity/unproductivity): she lives in the disease that is killing her; she multiplies and re-produces herself; in her apparent leisure, she works towards a goal; and, finally, she captures, through writing, the decomposition of her body. We do not mean by this that the disease represents some kind of liberation for Zoila, but we can affirm that it installs her in another field of power relations from which she, through a series of operations, manages to reposition herself. En el presente trabajo nos proponemos realizar una lectura de la novela Fruta podrida (2007) de Lina Meruane que hará foco en el personaje de Zoila con el objetivo de establecer una indagación sobre la potencia que tiene el cuerpo enfermo como forma-de-vida en el marco de un sistema que, bajo el imperativo y la promesa de la salud, se manifiesta en una intervención que separa cuerpo y persona, y establece un imperio en el que la obligación de hacer-vivir invade todos los ámbitos de la existencia. En Zoila convergen una serie de tensiones que complejizan las taxonomías sobre las que se arma el texto (salud/enfermedad, productividad/improductividad): ella vive en la enfermedad que la está matando; se multiplica y re-produce; en su aparente ocio, trabaja en pos de un objetivo; y, finalmente, plasma, mediante la escritura, la descomposición de su cuerpo. No queremos decir con esto que la enfermedad representa algún tipo de liberación para Zoila, pero sí podemos afirmar que la instala en otro campo de relaciones de poder a partir de las cuales ella, mediante una serie de operaciones, logra resituarse.
