Sumario:This paper describes an educational experience focused on the concept of biotechnology. It was carried out with third-year students from an agrotechnical school. The aim was to bring students closer, in an innovative way, to the study of biotechnology as a field of scientific knowledge applied to the agricultural sector, thus involving them in their own teaching and learning process. Taking as a reference the methodology of learning by argumentation and the use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), we present the results of the application of a didactic device that implies the analysis of the students' previous conceptions and the application of problematizing workshops related to biotechnology. The use of ICT was oriented in activities that guided students in the search, selection, and objective and critical assessment of the scientific information available in digital contexts and in the presentation of results.
