It was carried out with third-year students from an agrotechnical school. The aim was to bring students closer, in an innovative way, to the study of biotechnology as a field of scientific knowledge applied to the agricultural sector, thus involving them in their own teaching and learning process. Taking as a reference the methodology of learning by argumentation and the use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), we present the results of the application of a didactic device that implies the analysis of the students' previous conceptions and the application of problematizing workshops related to biotechnology. The use of ICT was oriented in activities that guided students in the search, selection, and objective and critical assessment of the scientific information available in digital contexts and in the presentation of results. En el presente trabajo se describe una experiencia educativa centrada en el concepto de biotecnología con estudiantes de tercer año de una escuela agrotécnica. Se pretendió acercar a los estudiantes, de una manera innovadora, al estudio de la biotecnología como campo de conocimiento científico aplicado al sector agropecuario, implicándolos así en su propio proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Teniendo como referencia la metodología del aprendizaje por argumentación y el uso de las TIC, mostramos un dispositivo didáctico que implica el análisis de las concepciones previas de los estudiantes y la aplicación de talleres problematizadores referidos a la biotecnología. El uso de las TIC estuvo orientado en actividades que guiaban al estudiante en la búsqueda, selección y valoración objetiva y crítica de la información disponible en contextos digitales y en la presentación de los resultados.
