description |
In recent years, the rise and achievements of the feminist struggle have had repercussions and strengthened the socio-environmental movement, which has been registering high levels of public exposure and dispute in the province of Chubut.Although with specific objectives and demands, both social movements (as such) share an assembly-based way of making decisions and developing their practice. Governed by the principles of horizontality and consensus, in their different paths they have come up against the difficulties of trying to function in a counter-hegemonic way, contradicting the instituted mandates that govern how to do the social and/or live in society in the 21st century. From feminism, the critique of the binary conception of life and the world, whether between Man and Woman, or between Humanity and Nature, is a central contribution that strengthens and feeds back into decolonial environmentalism. That is to say, an environmentalism that proposes a new civilizing model and questions the rationality of progress and sustainable development, proper to Corporate Social Responsibility. An environmentalism that promotes the exchange and usufruct of nature but rejects its exploitation and commodification. In short, an environmentalism that advocates a new civilizational model, where happiness is not associated with the idea of dominating and where differences are not synonymous with inequalities. This article starts by describing the territorializations of the socio-environmental movement in Chubut, and then identifies the contributions of the Multisectorial Feminist Women and Dissidences of Puerto Madryn. What are the feminist marks in the slogans of the "No to the Mine"? What are the interstices and intersections between the feminist struggle and the environmental struggle? |

What are the feminist marks in the slogans of the "No to the Mine"? What are the interstices and intersections between the feminist struggle and the environmental struggle?
