Dancing folk rhythms is a central activity there and the songs that sound and the words said on stage build images of the Patio related to province and nation. This article seeks to analyze the relationships between dances and images about the Patio, problematizing concepts such as “patio”, “pago” and nation. It is based on research carried out as a Master's thesis in Social Anthropology and uses the ethnographic method. This article emphasizes the importance of Santiago del Estero and Argentine identities in the construction of the Patio as a tourist space and folk dances as accessible to all. El Patio del Indio Froilán es un patio familiar y espacio cultural en la ciudad de Santiago del Estero abierto al público los domingos que ofrece comidas regionales, bebidas, artesanías y espectáculos musicales. Bailar ritmos folklóricos es un modo de estar central, mientras que las canciones que suenan y lo que se dice en el escenario construyen imágenes del Patio relacionadas con la provincia y la nación. Este artículo busca analizar las relaciones entre lo que se baila allí y las imágenes construidas sobre el Patio, problematizando conceptos como patio, pago y nación. Está basado en la investigación llevada a cabo como tesis de la Maestría en Antropología Social de la UNC y utiliza el método etnográfico. Enfatiza la importancia de las identidades santiagueña y argentina en la construcción del Patio como espacio turístico y de las danzas folklóricas como accesibles a todos.
