Sumario:Psychoactive substance abuse” is defined as “a maladaptive model of use of a substance, characterized by continued consumption, although the subject knows that he has a social, occupational, psychological and / or physical problem, persistent or recurrent, provoked or stimulated, in this case by alcohol. The purpose of this study was to investigate abuse or dependence on alcoholic beverages in adolescents in the City of Córdoba The survey was carried out using the CAGE Questionnaire consists of an effective screening method for alcohol abuse. It is a brief survey of 4 closed questions, validated, distributed randomly in activities and group workshops in the framework of extension activities, to 144 students of secondary schools in the city of Córdoba, in the periods of October-November 2018 The first three items of the CAGE questionnaire are consistent and complementary to the criteria of abuse and dependence. According to the number of affirmative answers, in general it is considered that the greater it is, the greater the dependency will also be. Thus according to affirmative answers they are classified in • 0-1 Social drinker • 2 Risk consumption. • 3 Harmful consumption • 4 Alcohol dependence. 41.7% of the surveyed students believe that they should drink less, 30.6% have been criticized for excessive consumption, 43% have felt bad or guilty about their drinking, 4.9% drank to calm their nerves or to get rid of the hangover. According to the results, 47.9% suffer alcohol abuse and / or dependence. Further research is necessary, because of the obvious risks
