Obesity is a chronic, complex health problem with epidemic behavior that shortens life expectancy, generates morbidity and increases socio-health costs. Due to its complexity, the treatment should be approached interdisciplinarily to achieve changes in lifestyle. The last ENFR made in Argentina in 2018, reveals an increase in relation to 2013 in the prevalence of obesity of 4.6% (25.4%). The Cardiovascular Risk Campaign conducted in 2016 in DASPU the most frequent risk factor was excess weight, with 64.8% (27.8% obesity and 37% overweight). The increase in the prevalence of excess weight and approval of the Obesity Law, translated an increase in the demand for treatment of this disease. In this context, the Healthy Habits Program is created, consisting of an interdisciplinary team with graduates in nutrition, psychology and social work, Physical Education Teacher, Family Physicians, and interns of medical students.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate an interdisciplinary approach program for people who are overweight and obese.
A longitudinal follow-up of 280 patients under PHS during 2017-2019 was carried out in health insurance DASPU. Adherence was evaluated by measuring attendance at consultations with different professionals, incorporation of healthy habits and weight loss. Telephone surveys were conducted on changing habits and weight loss and number of professionals who visit frequently were measured.
Fron the total of patients who consulted, 98 are under follow-up, 30 of whom are outsourced. 6 patients enter monthly. The patients attended the following controls: medical 84%, nutritional 82%, psychological and social work 52%, physical education teacher 56% and 64% interdisciplinary group workshops. 60% of patients report having improved the selection, quantity and organization of their diet, 50% managed to incorporate physical activity and more than 60% improved their self-esteem and prioritization of their care. 41% dropped to 10% of the initial weight; 11% to 20%; 4% more than 20%.
We conclude that HHP achieved that patients under the program present adherence to treatment, improving the incorporation of healthy habits sustained over time. |

We conclude that HHP achieved that patients under the program present adherence to treatment, improving the incorporation of healthy habits sustained over time.
