Contribution to the training of health promoters". We developed it during the year 2017, with the participation of 6th and 7th year students of the Agricultural Technical School No. 1, located in Florencio Varela, province of Buenos Aires. The main objective of this project was to promote community health practices based on the training of the students as rural health promoters. Ten workshops were held with the participation of students, teachers and Professionals from the Schools of Social Work, Fine Arts and Veterinary Sciences of the UNLP, SENASA and INTA. They worked with the concepts of prevention and health promotion and sought to rescue popular knowledge and practices, relating them to social determinations of the living conditions of the community. As a result of the workshops, the students prepared a series of brochures with the main subjects dealt with in order to prevent and promote health in their community. En este trabajo contamos algunos aspectos del Proyecto de Extensión “Salud rural: promoción y prevención en el periurbano. Aporte a la formación de promotores de salud”, el cual fue desarrollado durante el año 2017, con la participación de estudiantes de 6º y 7º año  de la Escuela Técnica Agraria Nº1, ubicada en Florencio Varela, provincia de Buenos Aires. El objetivo principal de este proyecto fue promover  prácticas de salud comunitarias a partir de la formación de los/as estudiantes como promotores de salud rural. Para ello, se realizaron diez talleres con la participación de estudiantes, docentes y profesionales de las Facultades de Trabajo Social, Ciencias Veterinarias y Bellas Artes de la UNLP, del SENASA y del INTA. En ellos se trabajó con los conceptos de prevención y promoción de la salud y se buscó rescatar los saberes y prácticas populares y relacionarlos con las determinaciones sociales de las condiciones de vida de la comunidad. Como resultado de estos talleres, los estudiantes confeccionaron una serie de folletos con las principales temáticas trabajadas con la finalidad de prevenir y promover salud en su comunidad.
