Sumario:The article proposes to investigate the erased trace of "the baroque" in Cuban literature, mainly in two texts, Antología de la literatura cubana by José Lezama and Lo cubano en la poesía of Cintio Vitier, with the purpose of warning those strokes by under the critical operations that often tried to make them invisible. In a second moment, the work focuses on the writing of José Martí. Through the reading of the Diario de campaña, we try to revise that the mark of that tradition taking into account certain textual elements that make it an "opaque" text among those that stand out fragmentation, sensorium and hypertelia.
