It could be said that Schmucler's cinema participates in this somewhat weak but quickly identifiable category of political cinema, although without making it a banner of party militancy or a commercial sales strategy. In the following interview, the director discusses his own history with cinema and his working methods.  Córdoba ha dado pocos realizadores tan prolíficos como Sergio Schmucler quien, a lo largo de su carrera, ha abordado distintos géneros en casi todas las formas de producción: desde la ficción pura y dura con La Herencia (2008) y La sombra azul (2012), al documental de producción colectiva como Guachos de la calle: Memorias del desarraigo (2015) o de realización autogestionada como Canción de Mariano (2007), siempre con un explícito compromiso político como marca común. Podría decirse que el cine de Schmucler participa de esa categoría un tanto endeble pero rápidamente identificable de cine político, aunque sin hacer de ella una bandera de militancia partidaria ni una estrategia de venta comercial.
