However, social organizations and movements during the 1990s had become the most important and central political actors in the confrontation with neoliberalism, did not achieve the same success. This paper analyzes the relationship between social movements and the government of Rafael Correa. El desarrollo del gobierno de Rafael Correa en el Ecuador (2007-2017) ha sido un proceso vertiginoso y “exitoso”. Sin embargo, las organizaciones y movimientos sociales, que durante la década de los 90 se habían convertido en los actores políticos más importantes en la confrontación al neoliberalismo, no lograron el mismo éxito.
