This rule was created to promote the conservation of the environment and serves as a reference point to evaluate practices that support to that purpose. This article presents the case of the Natural Reserve of Mixed Objective Boca de las Sierras, created in 1999 in the Municipality of Azul, with the aim of contrasting the normative framework with the uses given to the protected landscape and heritage by different interest groups. According to this purpose, and through a qualitative-quantitative study based on surveys, interviews, as well as audiovisual and written records, it was possible to classify the different uses into pressure, risk and opportunity factors. This constitutes a basic diagnosis that pretends to be useful to orient a sustainable management of the area, as well as to favor the understanding and study of other cases in the province. Las reservas naturales de la provincia de Buenos Aires son reguladas por la Ley Nº 10.907.  Dicha norma fue creada para promover la conservación del ambiente y sirve como punto de referencia para valorar las prácticas que apoyan a dicho propósito. En este artículo se presenta el caso de la Reserva Natural de Objetivo Mixto Boca de las Sierras, creada en 1999, en el partido de Azul, con el objetivo de contrastar la normativa marco aplicable con los usos sociales de los que es objeto el paisaje y patrimonio protegido por parte de diferentes grupos de interés. A partir de ello y, mediante la realización del estudio cuali-cuantitativo basado en encuestas, entrevistas y registros audiovisuales y escritos, fue posible clasificar los diferentes usos en factores de presión, de riesgo y de oportunidad. Esto constituye un diagnóstico de base que pretende ser de utilidad para orientar una gestión sustentable del área, así como para favorecer la comprensión y estudio de otros casos en la provincia.
