The interests of the local elite and Bourbon officials were agreeing on the benefits of gathering several Indian villages in order to promote the collection of taxes, control the natives and seize land that had water rights. These policies Bourbon confronted with different type of resistance implemented by Native corporations. El trabajo dialoga con artículos clásicos de Félix Luna para dar cuenta de una serie de “planes” que proponían el remate de las tierras de los pueblos de indios y la relocalización de su población a finales de la colonia. Los intereses de la elite local y de los funcionarios borbónicos fueron coincidiendo en las ventajas de reunir varios pueblos de indios con el fin de favorecer el cobro de los tributos, controlar a los nativos y apropiarse de tierras que contaban derechos al agua.
