These causes are: acute myorcardial infarction, heart failure and unstable angina pectoris. We studied prospective 96 patients admitted at the Coronary Care Unit of the Hospital "Prof. Dr. Bernardo A. Houssay" from November 1995 to March 1996. The age range was 30-93 years old, the mean age of the patients was 62.8 ± 13.5 years old, were 62.05% of the patients were male and the 37.5% of them were female. Ones 50% of the patients were admitted with only 3 causes: acute myocardial infarction (18.75%), heart failure (10.42%) and unstable angina pectoris (20.82%). The number of dead patients was 5 (5.21 %), 4 of them were female and 1 was male; 53.12% of the patients had hypertension, 21.87% of them had high cholesterol concentration, 31.25% were current smokers, 45.83% had stress, 40.62% were sedentary and the 33.3% had fatness. |l eng | |
